MEET OUR TEAM

Luke Lin, Founder
In 2001, Luke became a full-time volunteer teacher in rural Taiwan, beginning a lifelong journey dedicated to improving educational opportunities for students in isolated areas. For more than two decades, he has offered free English classes to students in his community, as well as organizing a variety of special events and activities to promote higher education and cultural exchange.
Luke currently serves as a consultant to Changhua's International Education and English Education Center, where he supports over 70 foreign English teachers in their work within Changhua's public schools. He also sits on the board of the non-profit Chinese Culture Connection in Boston, USA. In addition, Luke directs multiple educational projects and manages a thriving network of volunteers. Together, they have built an extensive library of free educational resources for students, supporting learning and growth across Taiwan.
Under Luke’s leadership, My Culture Connect continues to connect classrooms across Taiwan with people worldwide, breaking down barriers and fostering cultural understanding for all.

ADVOCACY BOARD
Who We Are
The Advocacy Board serves as the strategic heart of MCC’s international outreach. While our roots are firmly planted in the rich soil of Changhua County, our eyes are on the horizon. We are the ambassadors for the Renshi (人師) spirit—acting as "role models" and "people’s teachers" to foster a world where geography never limits a child's potential.
Our Global Aspirations
Our board members work tirelessly to promote the core values that have defined MCC since January 1st, 2009:
Global Unity: We actively unite students in Taiwan with international peers, creating a digital and cultural "handshake" that fosters lifelong understanding.
Educational Equity: We advocate for rural schools in central Taiwan, ensuring that students in underserved areas have the English language tools and web presence needed to engage with the world.
Win-Win Collaboration: We champion our unique practicum platform, where aspiring TEFL/TESOL teachers gain vital experience while providing our students with high-quality, free language instruction.
Commitment to the UN SDGs: We don’t just teach; we take action. Our board strengthens partnerships with UNA-USA chapters to promote the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, preparing our students to be the sustainable leaders of tomorrow.
Why Advocacy Matters
We believe that education is the ultimate gateway to a sustainable world. By collaborating with education leaders, government officials, and a global network of volunteers, the Advocacy Board ensures that MCC remains a catalyst for cultural exchange and social impact.
The MCC Advocacy Board is more than a committee—it is a movement. Together, we are building a more connected, understanding, and empathetic world, one classroom at a time.
OUR TEACHERS
My Culture Connect has been providing free English-speaking practice to children in rural areas of Changhua for many years, thanks to the dedication of our founder, Luke Lin. These lessons are entirely free, offering students the chance to build their confidence and improve their English skills. Our online teaching team is made up of caring and experienced educators from various regions across the United States, all committed to making a positive impact through language learning. Below are our teachers and some video samples of classes we have taught.
